Australia is to become the first country to put cigarettes in plain packaging after the Senate passed a law banning brand labels on packs.

The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has distanced himself from plans to ban adults smoking in cars with children present.

New Canadian research has found that not only are patients and staff ignoring hospital smoking bans, but the policies are also creating safety issues for patients.
