Amend the Smoking Ban

A comprehensive ban on smoking in all enclosed public places has been in force throughout the United Kingdom since July 1, 2007. The ban is supported by all the major political parties and at present there is little prospect of the ban being lifted or even amended.

Despite this, Forest has no intention of giving up the fight. We will shortly be announcing a new campaign, Amend the Smoking Ban, which will focus on persuading Britain's politicians that the smoking ban is unnecessarily draconian and that amendments to the ban are a serious option that would attract widespread support.

We intend to work with other groups to create a loose coalition of interested parties. More information soon.
