SOUNDBITE

'Proving a link between passive smoking and ill health is very difficult given the state of the scientific evidence.'

Health and Safety Commission, July 1999

Advice

FOREST is not a consultancy. Nor are we a counselling service. Nevertheless, if we can offer advice on any smoking-related issue we will do our best - or at least point you in the right direction.

In this section we offer some general advice that may be of help in the Workplace if you are (a) an employer or proprietor who is currently reviewing your policy on smoking; or (b) an employee whose employer is considering a ban or further restrictions on smoking at work.

We also bring you up-to-date with issues such as Cross-Channel Shopping and Buying Cigarettes on the Internet

Also in this section is the first in a series of Smokers' Guides that will highlight smoker-friendly (and not so smoker-friendly!) venues, establishments and methods of transport.

We also provide a beginners' guide to the weird and wonderful world of ventilation and Air Cleaning, a subject that we believe offers a genuine solution to many smoking-related problems.

Last but not least, we include a page on how to Quit Smoking with links to a variety of sites that provide a lot more information on the subject. (FOREST is not here to  encourage anyone either to smoke or to give up but we are happy to pass on relevant information.)

Comments and feedback on any of the above would be very welcome or perhaps you would like to alert us to any establishment that you think deserves a mention for its smoker-friendly attitude. Likewise any establishment that, in your experience, seems particularly hostile to smokers.
