Politics and Prohibition

Politics and Prohibition
Monday 2 October 2006
Royal Bath Hotel, Bournemouth

Forest once again took a party conference by storm. On this occasion, we invited delegates to a special speakeasy-style party at the Conservative conference in Bournemouth - and so many people (400) turned up, hotel staff had to turn some of them away for reasons of "health 'n safety"!

Attractions included champagne, Kalashnikov cockails, politically incorrect canapes, High-Life Hookahs (don't ask) and the Boisdale Blue Rhythm Band.

Guest speakers included Claire Fox of the Institute of Ideas; Simon Hills, associate editor of The Times, and author of Strictly No! How We're Being Overrun By The Nanny State; and Brian Monteith MSP and former spokesman for Forest.
Scared To Death

"The campaign against passive smoking provides one of the most dramatic examples of how science can be bent and distorted for ideological reasons."
